Dr. Katja Terlau
Dr. Katja Terlau is a German art historian. She worked as a freelance provenance researcher and art consultant since 1999, when finishing a research fellowship about the history of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, Cologne, 1933-1945 and provenance research for the City of Cologne. She drafted and organised the international conference "Museen im Zwielicht: Ankaufspolitik 1933–1945" at Cologne in 2001. Katja Terlau gratuated in 1998 and M.A. 1995 in art history, archaeology, prehistory and ancient history, University of Cologne.
In 2000 she was the founder of the international working group “Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung” in Germany.” Katja Terlau is spezialized in provenance research (provenance of artworks, looted art, lost art) for nearly 20 years.
Since 2014 she is an associate lecturer at the University of Cologne, institute of art history.
